At Stoke Park Children’s Centre we are involved with a number of organisations that that put on adult learning courses, which can help people gain qualifications, confidence, and in some cases lead to employment.
All parents and carers in our local reach area are welcome to attend, and many of the courses are free for those who have few or no qualifications.
Many of our courses are run by our staff members here at Stoke Park Children’s Centre, and a number are run by other organisations – often via Connect Lockleaze. This, and other organisations have a wider range of courses on offer than we are able to put on at any one time. So if there is something that you know you would like to get involved with then it is well worth checking out their website: www.connectlockleaze.com
Some examples of courses we have put on in the past are:
- The Nurturing Programme – a parenting course to help you build on your existing parenting skills, and to gain confidence in using them
- Food Hygiene
- First Aid
- English as a Second Language courses
- Maths GCSE
- English GCSE
Along with many more! If you have attended any courses with us in the past we would love to hear from you to see how it has affected you and how you use your new skills! Contact us to let us know more.
