Term 2 – Celebrations
Welcome back to Term 2. We hope you have had a fantastic half term with lots of spooky Halloween fun.
This term we will be thinking about different festivals and celebrations. We are starting the term off by thinking about Diwali. If you have any artifacts or special stories relating to this festival then please speak to me and we can arrange a time for you to share these with the class.
Please see below for this term’s topic web and learning map. We can’t wait for another busy and exciting term on our learning adventure!
Term 3 – Space
Welcome back to Term 3. Our topic this term is Space. We will be learning all about spaceships, planets, rockets, astronauts and even aliens! We are hoping to venture out on a school trip this term so watch this space for more details…
Please see below for more information about our learning journey this term.
Term 4 – Telling Tales (traditional stories)
This term we will focus on learning some Traditional stories and learning some stories from around the world. The 2 main stories are The Gingerbread Man and The 3 Billy Goats Gruff. Ask your child to retell them to you with the actions, they are brilliant at retelling stories with expression.
Term 5 – Oh I do like to be beside the Seaside!
This term we will focus on the seaside – hunting for pirates, comparing underwater creatures, learning a story about Little Jack who visits a fishing village, exploring colour mixing to create a seaside collage and lots more OO ARRRR!!!
Don’t forget to bring your book bag EVERYDAY and your P.E kits Mondays and Thursdays.
Term 6 – Wild things
This term we are learning about wild animals and the story called Handa’s Surprise. She takes a basket of fruit to her best friend Akeyo, the fruit includes guava, pineapple, avocado, orange, banana, passion fruit and tangerines. Have you tried any? Have a go! Tell us what you think of them. Or are there any fruits you would like to share with everyone?
We will also be practising for Sports Day, we hope you will join us in celebrating the children’s sporting achievements.
