Hazel class discover an alien invasion!

The children discover a crash landing with clues that aliens have landed in our school. We read the story The Aliens Are Coming! The children created fabulous posters and presented their ideas on how to scare the aliens away, such as, make a trap, make scary masks and dazzle them with lots of camera flashes.

A super start for Year 1!

Hazel Class should be very proud of the way they have settled into the new routines of school. Well done!  They have enjoyed re-enacting the story of George and The Dragon as well as creating their own stories using puppets. They have enjoyed sharing home work too.

We are excited to go on our trip to Cardiff Castle – please return your slips as soon as possible. It’s great to see so many children reading at home – please keep commenting and they will receive a special stamp in their reading record book. Please check book bags for spellings handed out on Fridays and tested the following Friday.

Year 1 ballet exam

On Wednesday Hazel Class took part in a ballet exam. We were wearing smart ballet dresses or shorts and tshirts and proper ballet shoes,.They were quite tight to help us point our toes. The girls had a beautiful bun and the boys even had hair gel in too!

We were a bit nervous but we all tried our best, persevered and we were absolutely fabulous ballet dancers. Miss Botting and Mrs Sage were so proud of us.

“I enjoyed the elves and butterflies dance.” Zain

“I liked the bit when we said hello to the examiner.” Alexis

“We were all very good and it was super fun!” Raekwon

Fairydust trail to Neverland!

KS1 have been investigating a trail of mysterious fairy dust around the school. We thought it may be fairies so we tiptoed along the trail to see if we could find them. Unfortunately all we found was a map of Neverland. We will keep our eyes peeled for fairy sightings though!

Watch out, there’s a troll about!

KS1 were terrified today to learn that there is a troll loose in Stoke Park School. We found footsteps in the playground, goat’s wool and even goat bones on the field! We searched for the troll and found him hiding under the bridge ahhhhhhhh!!! He was terrifying. He had terrible teeth and matted hair and smelt of rotten cabbage! I hope he doesn’t get spotted around the school again…

Calling all superheroes!

From masks to capes!Today, KS1 had brilliant fun designing and making their very own superhero costumes!  The children were given a selection of materials and they used their fantastic imagination to make costumes that were all unique and wonderful. Take a look at the fantastic finished products…IMG_2090
