Step back in time … with a celebrity twist!

On Tuesday KS1 visited SS Great Britain. We all had a fantastic day exploring the ship inside and out. We went on a tour of the cabins (1st class and 3rd class), got a taste of life in the kitchens and even got a whiff of some of the smells that would have surrounded passengers on their journeys. In the afternoon we had the chance to step back in time as we dressed as engineers, Victorian ladies and the ship’s crew. Can you spot a familiar face in the crowd as we waved the ship goodbye? We want to give SS Great Britain a massive thank you for their hospitality and gifts and thank you Fern for popping over to say hello on such a busy (and hot!) day. Please use your free tickets to go back and show your family all the sights and sounds.

First few days back in Year 5 and the Football Champions!

It was been a lovely first few days back this term. Well done to the children of Oak class for showing caring and self-responsible behaviour in their attitudes towards work and each other. This final term will be their chance to show off how much they have progressed and learnt throughout the year. I am looking forward to seeing what we create together.

We also celebrated the final of  a project called the Bristol Together Championships. Over the last few months, a range of our children have met and played matches with schools from the local area. They have enjoyed meeting other children from these events, especially the final, held today at UWE. The children also improved their confidence and social and skills and we are proud to announce that they came second place out of 8 teams!
